Low Risk, High Reward Pool for 2011

Listening to the Basbeall America podcast covering the NL Central (skip to 24:00 left for beginning), the Cincinnati Reds were mentioned as team stocked with major league ready prospects blocked everywhere on the major league roster.

Scoop up Chris Heisey, Juan Francisco, Yonder Alonso, Todd Frazier, etc and wait for the trades. All can be full-timers on second division teams.

Also, was that an Up The Academy reference by John Manual when referring to Kevin Brown?

Fantasy Baseball 2010: Aroldis Chapman

The hype surrounding prospects is enormous in this day of instant news and analysis. Do you believe the Cincinnatti Reds got caught up in the hype and made a financial mistake in signing the 100 MPH lefty Chapman?

I have a sneaky suspicion they did. Seems like a lot of money for an across the body thrower.

Fantasy Baseball 2010: Jay Bruce's Expected ADP

I expect Bruce’s ADP to be well over 100 everywhere except the smartiest of the smart pants expert drafts. Last year, he was a hot play around the 6th and 7th round. This year, no one with a modicum of common sense will fail to penalize him a couple rounds – at least.

The 7th-10th rounds are typically spent getting SP and closers. Putting Bruce after that makes him an 11th rounder – ADP 110-121 in most leagues.
