MLB Trade Rumors: Matt Holliday

ShareThis: "But Holliday has indicated to St. Louis teammates that he really wants to return to the Cardinals. And the Cardinals have made a very good offer. So if things get close — if the Cardinals grow impatient and threaten to move onto other options — will Holliday take charge of his own career and life? Or will he end up like Andy Benes in 1997?"

Eight and $16MM gets Matt Holliday into Barry Zito money. Is there any team in need of a power-hitting LFer with the flexibility to pay that much?

The New York Mets should have it, but Jason pay at half the dollars seems to be their preference.

How about the Los Angeles Angels? Vlad Guerrero just came off the book. But his deal was only $75MM or so over five years.

Anyone else or does it seem like Holliday will be a Cardinal for most of the second decade of the 21st century?
