St. Louis Cardinals Still Shopping An Outfielder

01/30/2009 - Albert Pujols makes a case for signing Manny Ramirez - STLtoday.com: "The Cardinals are shopping outfielders. With top prospect Colby Rasmus expected to push for an opening-day roster spot, the club also retains Ryan Ludwick, Rick Ankiel, Skip Schumaker, Chris Duncan, Joe Mather and Brian Barton. Ludwick and Ankiel are also arbitration-eligible."

And this doesn't account for the fantasy of the Cards signing LF Manny Ramirez! FWIW, I think the New York Yankees could use Rick Ankiel in CF.

Jermaine Dye, White Sox at crossroads in final year of contract -- chicagotribune.com

Jermaine Dye, White Sox at crossroads in final year of contract -- chicagotribune.com: "But he is getting older and entering what could be his final year with the Sox, who definitely would seek compensation at least similar to what a Type A free agent would net (two high draft picks) in any deal."

Kenny Williams should call Brian Cashman and aks him about offering arbitration to 36-year-olds coming off $10+ Million a year contracts.

Don't Forget Brandon Wood

FOX Sports on MSN - MLB - Dodgers still look like best fit for Manny: "Others, however, believe the Angels still could trade Chone Figgins to clear third base for Brandon Wood, then sign a free agent such as Dunn to serve as an outfielder/first baseman/DH"

Wood also has SS-eligiblity. He is a great last round gamble.
