Day 169 and Couting

Gooing through the list of possible #1 overalls in my NL-only minor league draft (we can keep up to 5 each season), the best I come-up with are the Padres Matt Antonelli, the Brewers' Matt LaPorta and the Dogers' Chin-Lung Hu. With 2B open in San Diego, even Antonelli may not be available.

Maybe I just hope the offer I amde earlier this week remains unanswered.

If each team can only keep 5, you should be able to do much better than Antonelli. Two guys that immediately leap to mind are Josh Josh Vitters
Matt LaPorta

They are absolute high ceiling guys who profile as middle of the order run producers. Antonelli in that cavern of a park in SD profiles as a singles and doubles guy without a whole lot of speed and if he's $5, I can't imagine you are making a whole lot of bang for your buck having him as a keeper on your roster in hi sfirst go around. Good luck.

Vitters seems to be a bit of a reach, no? He did not explode on the scene.

I agree with la porta.
