Notes from yesterday:
Like super prospect Phil Hughes before him, Giants rookie Tim Lincecum pitched a very good second start - 7IP/8RA/2ER/6K.
*
Jeremy Accardo pitched the 9th for the Jays, but it wasn't a save situation. However, that is a signal that he is the lead dog in the race to get the most saves.
*
John Lackey won his 5th game. If he can get to 17W and the Angels make the play-offs, he will be the 2007 CY Young award winner. He's been a very good AL pitcher but has never won the games his stats would indicate - 13 & 14 the past two seasons with 200+ IP and 190+ Ks.
