Notes from yesterday:
The Giants Fred Lewis went 2-5 and looks like a decent short-term gamble. He has some power and a lot of speed as evidenced by his double-digit totals in 2B, 3B and HR in AAA last year. He stole 18 last year but 30+ in the three preceding ones. His walks totals are good enough to think he will be able to take them as a pro.

In the never-concluded saga of Florida closers, Kevin Gregg pitched the 9th in a 9-3 win.
*
Armando Benitez blew a save tonight. I expect this situation to develop.
